All New People

I was lucky enough to see a preview of Zach Braff's new play, All New People, at the Second Stage Theatre while I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago.

In short, it was incredible. It's cast perfectly and, to me, is perfectly balanced between humor and seriousness. It stars Justin Bartha, Krysten Ritter, Anna Camp and David Wilson Barnes. Here's a short overview from the website:
It’s the dead of winter and the summer vacation getaway of Long Beach Island, New Jersey is desolate and blanketed in snow. Charlie is 35, heartbroken and just wants some time away from the rest of the world. The island ghost town seems to be the perfect escape until his solitude is interrupted by a motley parade of misfits who show up and change his plans.  A hired beauty, the townie fireman, and an eccentric British real estate agent desperately trying to stay in the country suddenly find themselves tangled together in a beach house where the mood is anything but sunny.
I was excited to see Bartha, who plays Charlie, and Ritter; as I've loved their work in the past. I was pleasantly surprised with how funny and engaging Camp was in her role as a call girl and I hope to see her perform in the future.

I would encourage you to make time to see this show if you're in the NYC area before it closes on August 14th. I think you'll definitely find it worth your while.
