Carrie Underwood - Play On

For anyone who doesn't know, I'm a huge Carrie Underwood fan. Her new CD, Play On, is in stores today and I just thought I'd let you guys hear my favorite song so far. There are several that I think are going to do very well, but "What Can I Say" really hit home with me. Listen below and pick up her CD if you haven't already!

Sweet Baby!

Cam Gigandet with his sweet little girl Everleigh. How precious is she??

I like this side of Cam. Much better than him always being the bad guy, don't you think?

The Vampire Diaries

All I have to say is - I wish I were this girl.

Can't wait for this show to start. :)

30 Day Shred

Yesterday I started the 30 Day Shred and I have to tell you, I can hardly walk today! This thing is kicking my butt already! I've heard really good reviews from girls that I know about this DVD and after only one workout, I'm sure they're true.

I bought my DVD from Amazon for only $9 and it includes three workouts that you do for 30 days. It seems like an excellent value for the money. I've never watched The Biggest Loser, but after experiencing sessions with one of their trainers it's no wonder they're so successful with weight loss. Hopefully I will experience some of the same success 29 days from now.

The Hills

I can't believe I've never updated about The Hills! I've seen every episode, own every season, and I've never bothered to share my love with the world? What is wrong here? :)

I've watched Lauren Conrad and her group of friends since the days of Laguna Beach. I feel like we've grown up together in a sense. I've seen them go through first loves, breakups, homebuying experiences, birthdays, vacations, proposals, and soon - weddings.

Season 5 is quickly coming to an end - the finale is this Sunday night - as is the series itself for Lauren. After 7+ years of living her life on the small screen, Conrad is calling it quits - at least for now. I can't decide if the show will be worth watching without her, but it definitely won't be the same. It's almost like a breakup of my own. Hopefully Lauren will go on to bigger and better things. I will, more than likely, stay content to watch others bring drama into my Monday nights.

Legally Blonde the Musical - take 3

My friends and I just ordered tickets to see Legally Blonde the Musical again when it comes to Nashville and I just found out that Laura Bell Bundy, the original Elle, will be reprising her role! I could not be more excited!

This is one of my favorite Broadway shows by far, and I'm so thankful to be able to see LBB as Elle one more time. Everyone should buy tickets if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Adam Lambert

I'm an avid American Idol watcher anyway, but this season I've been intrigued every week by one contestant. Adam Lambert makes me wonder what he can possibly come up with next. Whether it's an Egyptian-styled version of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" or a scaled down version of Tears for Fears' "Mad World", I can't wait to hear his song choice.

I always grow attached to one contestant more than others, but there is no doubt in my mind Adam is the best one on that stage. And while some more think it unfair because he's grown up in the theatre, you can't deny he has the best stage present out of the remaining 7 contestants.

I'm very interested to see what he chooses to do for the rest of the season, and even more interested to see what happens after the show is over.

Who is your favorite Idol contestant this year?

Wicked the Musical

Wicked is one of those musicals I had wanted to see since I first heard about it. Granted, I was biased because I love anything that Kristin Chenoweth does. However, after it blew up on Broadway, I knew I would have to see it. I'm still sad that I didn't get to see the original with Kristin and Idina Menzel
, and I haven't gotten to see it actually on Broadway yet, but seeing it with other actors and in a different city certainly beats not seeing it at all.

I was able to attend the national tour when it stopped in Birmingham, Alabama. It was beyond anything I ever imagined, so I can't even fathom what it must be like on a stage built for only that show. I had refused to read about it beforehand, all I knew was what the music on the soundtrack told me. I learned that wasn't a whole lot in the grand scheme of the show, but I won't spoil it for you if you haven't yet seen it yourself.

Marcie Dodd stars in the tour as Elphaba and is simply amazing. Her voice is remarkably similar to Idina Menzel's and her personality was perfect for the role. She was, by far, my favorite part of the show.

Hopefully I'll make it back to New York soon enough that I can see the show on Broadway. If you guys ever get the chance (no matter where it is) I would definitely recommend seeing it. I haven't met a person who hasn't enjoyed the experience.

NBC's Southland

Benjamin McKenzie is back! The OC hottie is back as a cop on the NBC show Southland. It starts April 9th at 9 (central). I can't wait to see how he's matured since the days of Ryan Atwood.

Legally Blonde the Musical: Memphis

On March 7th, Laurel and I went to Memphis to see Legally Blonde the Musical. The cast did a fabulous job, although I will be the first to tell you that it took me a while to settle in to their performance. After seeing the show on Broadway in December of 2007 with Laura Bell Bundy as Elle, you might understand how I was a little bit aprehensive about having someone else play the part I have come to love so dearly. However, halfway through the first song, all fears were gone. Becky Gulsvig was ahmazing! She was even able to hit the note at the end of "So Much Better", which seems impossible to do after all that dancing around through the first act.

Another reason I was so excited about the tour was because I was an avid follower of Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods on MTV. Lauren Zakrin and Rhiannon Hansen, two finalists on the show, are now on the national tour! Lauren is in the ensemble and the understudy for Elle and Rhiannon is one of Elle's good friends Margot. Unfortunately, Rhiannon was injured and out for the Memphis show, but hopefully she's recovering and will back when the show rolls into Nashville. I can only hope that I'm there too!

Laurel and I with Becky after the show.

The Circus starring Britney Spears

My best friend and I kicked off our birthday weekend by going to see Britney Spears at the Philips Arena in Atlanta. She was, in one word, AMAZING. I couldn't believe how much of the old Britney was back! The setlist was a great mix of new material and older, classic Brit songs. I was simply thrilled to hear to "...Baby One More Time". The song is still great, even after being out for eleven (!!) years. I was also excited to hear some of the new stuff like "Circus" and "Piece of Me", and "If You Seek Amy" got some of the loudest screams of the night.

The show certainly included it's share of barely there costumes, but from the princess of pop do we really expect anything less? Some of my favorites included the ring leader costume at the beginning and the policeman uniform at the end.

Even though Britney was lip-synching (and really, did that shock anybody?) through the show, her energy was enough to satisfy the five year drought her fans have been suffering through.

I hope everyone who wants to gets the chance to see this comeback tour for Brit. Hopefully this is just the beginning of many more awesomely entertaining tours to come.

b.spears

Tonight my friend Laurel and I will be going to Atlanta to see Britney Spears in her Circus tour. I'm too excited for words!

It's been sad to watch Britney's life lately, but hopefully this tour is the start of her return to stardom, and normalcy. From what I've seen so far, the show looks like a blast - lots of circus acts performing alongside Brit.

I'll let you know how it goes!

I love that Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are dating.

I also love that they're rumored to be engaged!? Fun!

Grammy Awards

Sunday night was the 51st annual Grammy Awards. The Grammy's are always one of my favorite award shows of the season. I feel more connected to music than I do to tv shows or movies, so I have more of an interest in who is winning.

I also really enjoy the performances. Some of my favorites this year were the Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Al Green, and Boyz II Men collaboration (which wasn't planned, but in my opinion putting JT and Keith Urban together is never a bad thing), Carrie Underwood, Chris Martin and Jay-Z, Jennifer Hudson, and the "Rap Pack" with a very pregnant M.I.A (which was really just hilarious).

Was there anyone in particular you liked?

American Idol: Season 8

One of my favorite things about this time of year is the beginning of a new season of American Idol. While I'm not as crazy about all the horrible singers that they like to show during the audition process, the show has become one of my favorites and I look forward to discovering the new talent every year.

This year my favorite person so far has actually not been a contestant, but a judge. New judge, Kara DioGuardi, has the musical history to be completely relevant to the show - all while being a welcome change to the lineup of the show. I love Simon, Randy, and Paula, but it's nice to see a new face who also knows what she's talking about when she's critiquing a possible contestant.

So far they've let some people through to Hollywood that I definitely would not have, but I'm excited to see what next week brings us as we get to see what all the contestants can do now that they've made it to Hollywood.

Here's hoping for the next Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson.
