I'm an avid American Idol watcher anyway, but this season I've been intrigued every week by one contestant. Adam Lambert makes me wonder what he can possibly come up with next. Whether it's an Egyptian-styled version of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" or a scaled down version of Tears for Fears' "Mad World", I can't wait to hear his song choice.
I always grow attached to one contestant more than others, but there is no doubt in my mind Adam is the best one on that stage. And while some more think it unfair because he's grown up in the theatre, you can't deny he has the best stage present out of the remaining 7 contestants.
I'm very interested to see what he chooses to do for the rest of the season, and even more interested to see what happens after the show is over.
Who is your favorite Idol contestant this year?

Wicked is one of those musicals I had wanted to see since I first heard about it. Granted, I was biased because I love anything that Kristin Chenoweth does. However, after it blew up on Broadway, I knew I would have to see it. I'm still sad that I didn't get to see the original with Kristin and Idina Menzel, and I haven't gotten to see it actually on Broadway yet, but seeing it with other actors and in a different city certainly beats not seeing it at all.
I was able to attend the national tour when it stopped in Birmingham, Alabama. It was beyond anything I ever imagined, so I can't even fathom what it must be like on a stage built for only that show. I had refused to read about it beforehand, all I knew was what the music on the soundtrack told me. I learned that wasn't a whole lot in the grand scheme of the show, but I won't spoil it for you if you haven't yet seen it yourself.
Marcie Dodd stars in the tour as Elphaba and is simply amazing. Her voice is remarkably similar to Idina Menzel's and her personality was perfect for the role. She was, by far, my favorite part of the show.
Hopefully I'll make it back to New York soon enough that I can see the show on Broadway. If you guys ever get the chance (no matter where it is) I would definitely recommend seeing it. I haven't met a person who hasn't enjoyed the experience.
