NBC's Southland

Benjamin McKenzie is back! The OC hottie is back as a cop on the NBC show Southland. It starts April 9th at 9 (central). I can't wait to see how he's matured since the days of Ryan Atwood.

Legally Blonde the Musical: Memphis

On March 7th, Laurel and I went to Memphis to see Legally Blonde the Musical. The cast did a fabulous job, although I will be the first to tell you that it took me a while to settle in to their performance. After seeing the show on Broadway in December of 2007 with Laura Bell Bundy as Elle, you might understand how I was a little bit aprehensive about having someone else play the part I have come to love so dearly. However, halfway through the first song, all fears were gone. Becky Gulsvig was ahmazing! She was even able to hit the note at the end of "So Much Better", which seems impossible to do after all that dancing around through the first act.

Another reason I was so excited about the tour was because I was an avid follower of Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods on MTV. Lauren Zakrin and Rhiannon Hansen, two finalists on the show, are now on the national tour! Lauren is in the ensemble and the understudy for Elle and Rhiannon is one of Elle's good friends Margot. Unfortunately, Rhiannon was injured and out for the Memphis show, but hopefully she's recovering and will back when the show rolls into Nashville. I can only hope that I'm there too!

The Circus starring Britney Spears

My best friend and I kicked off our birthday weekend by going to see Britney Spears at the Philips Arena in Atlanta. She was, in one word, AMAZING. I couldn't believe how much of the old Britney was back! The setlist was a great mix of new material and older, classic Brit songs. I was simply thrilled to hear to "...Baby One More Time". The song is still great, even after being out for eleven (!!) years. I was also excited to hear some of the new stuff like "Circus" and "Piece of Me", and "If You Seek Amy" got some of the loudest screams of the night.

The show certainly included it's share of barely there costumes, but from the princess of pop do we really expect anything less? Some of my favorites included the ring leader costume at the beginning and the policeman uniform at the end.

Even though Britney was lip-synching (and really, did that shock anybody?) through the show, her energy was enough to satisfy the five year drought her fans have been suffering through.

I hope everyone who wants to gets the chance to see this comeback tour for Brit. Hopefully this is just the beginning of many more awesomely entertaining tours to come.

b.spears

Tonight my friend Laurel and I will be going to Atlanta to see Britney Spears in her Circus tour. I'm too excited for words!

It's been sad to watch Britney's life lately, but hopefully this tour is the start of her return to stardom, and normalcy. From what I've seen so far, the show looks like a blast - lots of circus acts performing alongside Brit.

I'll let you know how it goes!
